Biturbo 222 / SR / 4V

Despite looking similar to the Biturbo, this coupe was the basis for a new range with a softer look and more rounded corners.  The 222 was launched on foreign markets with a 2.8 litre engine and the designation 222E.  In 1990 it became the 222SE, with the aesthetic improvements of the 2.24V.  From 1991, the car was given a face-lift and revised.  The principal changes were the adoption of a 4 OHV engine and a revision to the rear suspension, which were accompanied by changes to the interior and accessories in line with the changes being applied to other models across the range at that time.
