Biturbo 430 / 430 4V

Apart from the very substantial cosmetic changes made to the car relative to the 420i, the 430 carried significant improvements in the chassis. There was a new front end with 'active mechanical' steering system including a new stabiliser bar, the adoption of self vented discs and floating front calipers and the new Ranger differential which was a further refinement of the Sensitork system.  It was offered with an optional sunroof and automatic transmission. From 1991, a new variant - the 430 4V - was introduced, which featured 4 valves per cylinder and a range of other changes including rear suspension. However, the 3 valve version was kept in production.
