Ghibli - Series II

Produced initially for domestic sales in Italy, the Ghibli first appeared in 2.0 litre V6 form in 1992.  The car was intended to represent a pinnacle of sports performance with comfort, style and safety. The Ghibli, in that respect, was reminiscent of the original Ghibli first released in the 60's, otherwise similar in frontal appearance to the Shamal. In 1994, a revised version of the car was released and this included a car powered by the 2.8 litre V6. This second series was characterised by minor changes to the interior, 'Merak' style wheels and a fully adjustable electronic suspension and ABS brakes. The 1995 version reverted to spoked alloy wheels, suspension modifications and the adoption of the Ranger differential and Getrag gearbox already in use on the 2.0 litre version.
